Net margin

How much of every krone of revenue is left as net profit.

Net margin is net profit divided by operating revenue, as a percentage. It answers how much of the turnover actually became profit.

What counts as high depends entirely on the trade. Grocery retail lives on a few per cent; software and consultancy can run many times higher. The margin says something when compared with others in the same industry, and little otherwise.

Overit calculates this from the published figures.
